There’s something about this New Year that has me totally motivated. Something overnight just clicked (it could’ve been the hours spent watching Suits and seeing how much they kick ass). Although I should’ve spent all of my days off in the sun with friends and a rosè in hand, I was either at my desk (which I totally feng shui’d for positive vibes) or I was buying life changing books and notepads to begin 2015 with. This time to myself really helped rejuvenate the passion that’s behind Sassy Australia.
So much greatness happened in 2014. It’ll be a tough year to top. The wonderful babes from Sassy Media Group in Hong Kong took a massive leap of faith in trusting us with their baby, and thus Sassy Australia was born. We launched Sassy Gold Coast as our first city site. We learned, we made mistakes, we cried, we high-fived. It was incredibly testing, yet empowering and rewarding.
What I’m getting at is, make 2015 the year you really turn it up a notch. Turn your diary entries, your Pinterest boards (including the secret ones), and your daydreams into one big fat reality. Life is getting by us quickly and it’s time to make it your dream life. Quit your job, start that project, take up that uni subject, open that organic bakery – whatever it is that you yearn for the most, don’t hold back any longer.
I’m not going to tell you that going out on your own is easy. It’s far from it. Transforming a dream into reality is one of the toughest journeys you’ll ever embark on. Sure your social life will amplify, your contacts will grow, your Instagram followers will increase and there’ll be a few life highs, but none of this won’t be the result of anything but honest, hard, rewarding work… and a bucket load of self-belief.
I went from working in a tumultuous fashion industry for 12 years to owning this fabulous recommendation site of which I manage the content. A BIG dream, a creative writing course and a ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ attitude got me here. Together with an incredible team (they 100% mean the world) we can tick Sassy Gold Coast off our list and progress (hopefully smoothly) into the launch of Sassy Brisbane – early 2015, so stay tuned Brisbane Babes. Can I pinch myself yet?
So in 2015, turn it up! Let your inner spark guide you, don’t let anything or anyone get in the way, and believe in yourself – you just don’t know how amazing you are until you try. Have a brilliant year!
