When it comes to fabulous venues with a view of our sparkling Gold Coast waters, there’s really only a few we can rely on. One being Palazzo Versace’s Vie Bar and Restaurant.
Located on the water’s edge of one of the Gold Coast’s most glamorous hotels, Palazzo Versace, this is one venue where the view doesn’t disappoint. The position spills out onto the marina, and the decor is #allwhiteeverything, offering the best backdrop for a long ladies lunch.
The menu offers dishes to suit every palette, and the wine list comprises a number of fine drops including our favourite waterside bubbles, Moet & Chandon Imperial Ice. On this particularly hot summer’s day, this drink complete with its fruity accompaniments went down a little too well. If it wasn’t a Wednesday and we had Sassy to attend to, us Sassy babes would’ve easily settled in nicely for the afternoon.
With a range of delicious dishes to choose from, we opted to go for an entrée and main each, complete with a side of greens.
Katherine opted for the seared salmon with asparagus and tomato basil salsa as her main. The salmon was tender and cooked to perfection and the seared skin was gloriously golden and offered that perfect crunch with every bite. The serving size was just right for lunch (especially when you’re enjoying your meal with a few bubbly refreshments).
Liz and I both couldn’t look past the gnocchi with egg truffle oil, little did we know this was both our favourite dish to order off any menu. The gnocchi’s texture was soft and tender and cooked to perfection, and the light truffle oil and creamy sauce were perfectly paired. If you’re a gnocchi addict like us, you simply must try it.
Trying to keep things slightly healthy, we ordered a side of Brussels sprouts. Although this dish might not appeal to everyone, we can assure you‘ll be delightfully surprised. What’s not to love when they’re served in a light balsamic oil and finely chopped bacon?
We simply couldn’t fit another bite in, but should you opt for a sweet treat afterwards, Vie offers an array of decadent desserts. We spied the warm chocolate and walnut brownie with cream pass us, and girls, ‘divine’ would be a total understatement to describe this little slice of heaven.
Next time you’re organising a ladies lunch, head to Vie Bar + Restaurant for an afternoon of pure decadence.
